Getting Started
1What does AIReportGenerator actually do?
Give it your raw material — notes, Word, PDF or PowerPoint drafts, Excel or CSV spreadsheets, photos — and it turns it into a designed, multi-page report: structured, laid out page by page, with charts built from your numbers. Download it as a PDF or an HTML flipbook, share it by link, or present it full screen. Everything happens in a chat.
2How is this different from a report template or an AI writer?
A template gives you empty boxes to fill. An AI writer gives you text to paste somewhere. AIReportGenerator starts from the content you already have, keeps your structure, turns your data into charts, places your photos and logo, and designs every page — you get a finished report, ready to send.
3What kinds of reports work best?
Annual and impact reports, business cases and investment proposals, project and progress reports, mission, field and trip reports, research and school reports, client reports and board updates — anything you need to hand to a reader who will judge your work by it.
4I'm not a designer. Can I still use this?
Yes. You don't pick fonts, colours or layouts. Once your text is ready, you get a set of visual styles built around your subject. Pick one and the whole report follows it.
5How does the process work?
Four steps:
- Upload your files or describe your report — and say who it's for.
- Review the text — you see the full wording of every page before anything is designed. Editing at this stage is free.
- Pick a style.
- Generate the pages — then refine any page you want.
6How long does it take?
Reading your files and writing the text usually takes a few minutes. Designing the pages then takes a few minutes to around fifteen, depending on length. Pages are generated several at a time, so you're not waiting page by page.
7What languages does it support?
It writes in the language of your material by default. Ask for another language — for example "write the report in French" — and it translates as it writes. The chat replies in whatever language you type in.
8Do I need an account?
Yes, you'll need to sign up to create a report. Every report is saved to My projects, so you can reopen it and keep editing anytime.
Uploading Files & Data
9What can I upload?
Documents — PDF, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), Markdown and TXT; spreadsheets — Excel (.xlsx) and CSV; and images — JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF. You can upload several files at once, paste text straight into the chat, or paste a web link for it to read.
10How does it use my Excel or CSV data?
Each sheet is read as a table, so the AI works from your actual figures. Tell it what to show — "chart monthly revenue by region" or "add a timeline of the milestones" — and it builds the charts and tables into the pages.
11Can it keep my structure and wording?
Yes. Say "follow my document's structure" and it keeps your chapters, order and headings, one section per page. Add "keep my wording" and your text, figures and official phrasing are used exactly as written.
12I only have a topic. Can it write the report?
Yes. Give it the subject, the audience and the length you need, and it researches the web, plans the outline and writes the full text for you to review.
13Can I add my own photos?
Yes. Upload them and say where they go — "put these site photos under section 3" or "make a two-page photo gallery at the end."
14Can I use my own logo and brand colours?
- Logo — upload it as an image and say "this is our logo, put it on every page."
- Brand colours — give the hex code (for example
#1D272C) and it uses that exact value.
15Will my uploads be used to train AI?
Your files and reports are used only to create your report. We keep them out of model training entirely.
Content & Copy
16Can I see what it's going to write before pages are generated?
Yes, and this is the step worth slowing down for. You get the complete wording of every page first. Editing text at this stage costs no credits, so it's the cheapest place to get things right.
17What if some figures are missing from my material?
It asks you how to handle them — send the numbers, let it look them up, or leave a clearly marked placeholder you can fill in later.
18How many pages will I get? Can I set the number?
It depends on how much material you have. Say "make it 12 pages" and it will.
19Can I see a few pages before committing to the whole thing?
Yes, and it's the recommended approach — it generates 1–3 pages first by default. Once the content and style look right, it continues with the rest.
20Is the content accurate?
It's built from your files and the sources it finds. Check key figures, names and dates at the text review stage — that's where corrections are free.
21Can it add an executive summary, key findings or recommendations?
Yes — executive summaries, key findings, recommendations, next steps, appendices and glossaries. Say what you want and where.
22Can it make a cover, table of contents and contact page?
Yes. Ask for a cover with your logo, a contents page with page numbers, running headers or footers, and a closing contact page with your team's details and photo.
Design & Layout
23How do I choose a style?
Once your text is confirmed you get a set of styles generated around your subject, each with a colour and type preview. Click one. Want a different set? Describe the feel you're after — "more corporate", "brighter, photo-led" — and it generates a fresh batch.
24Are there ready-made templates as well?
Yes. A template tab sits alongside the AI styles. Templates give consistent results; AI styles fit your specific subject more closely. You can also upload an image of a design you like and ask it to follow that look.
25Which page sizes can I choose?
Pick the page layout on the input box before you start: A4, A5, US Letter or Half Letter, in portrait or landscape.
26Can I change the style halfway through?
Yes. Pages already generated are regenerated to pick up the new look, billed as normal generation — so it pays to settle the style on the first 3 pages.
27How do I adjust spacing and text size on a page?
Every page has an edit menu with one-click fixes: fill the page, loosen spacing, fix overlaps, and enlarge text.
Charts & Images
28What charts can it make from my data?
Bar, line and pie charts, timelines, key-figure callouts and tables — built from the figures in your spreadsheets or text. Name the chart you want, or let it pick the clearest one for each point.
29How do I change a chart?
Use AI edit on that page and say what you want: "switch this to a line chart", "highlight Q4 in our brand colour", "add the 2025 figures."
30Where do the images come from?
Three sources: your own uploads, web image search, and AI generation.
31What does an AI-generated image cost?
10 credits each.
32Can I leave space for photos and add them later?
Yes. Ask it to "leave an image placeholder here." Later, click that spot in manual editing and upload your image — this costs no credits.
33Can I use the images commercially?
- Your own uploads — your copyright.
- AI-generated — yours to use in your report.
- From image search — review the source's licence before commercial use.
Editing & Revisions
34Can I change things after the report is generated?
Two ways:
- Ask the AI — describe the change in plain words, e.g. "make the heading bigger" (5 credits per page)
- Edit it yourself — open manual editing and drag, retype, and swap images directly (free)
35What can I change in manual editing?
Text, size, bold, colour, alignment, images, image rotation, position, scale, and deleting elements. Undo is available. Click any image to replace it with your own upload or generate new options with AI.
36Can I reorder, delete or insert pages?
Reordering and deleting are free. Inserting a new page is billed as a new page (35 credits).
37Can I go back to an earlier version?
Yes. Every page keeps its version history, and you can roll back from the edit menu.
38How do I get it to change one thing and leave the rest as it is?
Be specific, and add "change only this — keep everything else as it is." Exact values beat adjectives: "make the heading 22px" lands closer than "bigger".
Downloading, Sharing & Presenting
39What formats can I download?
Two: a PDF for sending and printing, and an interactive HTML flipbook that opens in any browser.
40Can I send the PDF to a print shop?
Yes. Choose the Print preset when downloading: the PDF gets 3 mm bleed and crop marks, ready for a print shop. The Digital preset is best for screens, email and home printing.
41Is the PDF good quality?
Yes. Text stays selectable and searchable, and it prints sharp.
42How do I share it?
Click share and copy the link. Whoever opens it can read the full report right away — no account needed.
43Can I present it in a meeting?
Yes. Click Present for a full-screen view that scales each page to the screen, and move through the report page by page.
44How do I get a watermark-free download?
Downloads on any paid plan are watermark-free. This covers reports you made before upgrading too — just download them again.
Credits & Billing
45How do credits work?
| Action | Credits |
|---|---|
| Generate a page | 35 |
| AI edit on a page | 5 |
| AI-generated image | 10 |
| Each chat message | 7 |
| Starting a new report | 1 |
| Uploading and reading your files | Free |
| Reordering, deleting, manual editing, PDF download | Free |
If something fails to generate, those credits go back automatically.
46What's the difference between a subscription and a credit pack?
- Subscription — monthly or yearly, with a batch of credits each billing period. Best if you produce reports regularly.
- Credit pack — pay once, valid for a year, no auto-renewal. Best for a one-off project.
Both give watermark-free downloads. See the pricing page for current plans.
47How long do credits last?
Credit pack credits are valid for a year from purchase. Subscription credits are used within their billing period.
48I ran out of credits midway. Is my work still there?
All of it. Your report and the conversation are preserved — top up, go back to the same page, and carry on.
49How do I make credits go further?
- Settle the content at the text review stage — editing there is free.
- Confirm the style on 3 pages before generating the rest.
- Use manual editing for typos, repositioning and your own photos — free.
- Batch your changes into one request rather than several.
50I paid but my credits haven't arrived.
Email support with your order number and we'll sort it out.
Privacy & Business Use
51Can I use the reports for work or client projects?
Yes. Reports made on a paid plan are yours to use commercially — for clients, funders, investors or management. For images that came from web search, review the source's licence.
52Where is my data stored, and how long do you keep it?
Your uploaded files and reports stay with your account, so you can reopen and edit them anytime. Account details, uploads and generated content are deleted within 30 days of account closure, with backups cleared on a rolling 90-day basis. Payment and tax records are retained for 7 years as required by law. Your files are used only to create your reports. See the privacy policy for full details.
Still stuck?
Upload your files and ask as you go — it answers in the chat and adjusts your report at the same time.
